Hard Yacka or Country Stroll rogaine – SA 2008

Posted on 27 Oct 2008 | 0 comments

It is not a long drive to Yacka – about 40km north of Clare. We arrive late on Friday night and pitch our tent in the dark. The next morning we discover we pitched right beside Mark and Ella without even knowing it. It’s nice to see familiar faces already.

The course looks relatively easy and we plan to go out hard. It’s hot and there are a lot of flies and to top it all off the grass seeds in the paddocks are horrendous. We both tape our shoes to try to stop them getting in. It doesn’t prevent it completely, but it helps.

Going out hard in the heat pays off… we finish 3rd overall and second mixed 😉
