Avon Descent 2008

Posted on 5 Aug 2008 | 0 comments

Jon decides (very) last minute he wants to do the Avon descent this year and starts training madly on the river Torrens… In the last few weeks leading up to the event it rains a LOT in Perth and catchment area and as a result the Avon is higher than it has been in the last 10 years! 1.6m at Walyunga!!

Jon finishes the first day pretty much together with Karen in a record time. By 1.30pm they have already finished! The next day it doesn’t go very well for Karen, but Jon manages to get through all the rapids safely and finishes – very tired!
